Bauer SV-90 Intermediate Goalie Catcher - THS Spec
Intro & New Features
As part of the Vapor Goal collection, Bauer unveiled the SV-90 goalie catcher. The SV-90 catcher is equipped with key features similar to the Flylite goalie catcher, but at a lower price point. It is built with a CURV reinforced cuff, a double T pocket design to help trap the puck, and a Catchgrip palm for added protection from impacts.
External Material
The SV-90 catcher features a Catchlite palm for an excellent combination of comfort, protection, and performance. The foam padding helps to absorb the impact of incoming shots, while the synthetic material provides a secure grip on the puck, allowing the goaltender to make clean and confident saves.
Break Angle
The Vapor 90° break angle is characterized by a more open and rounded shape when the glove is closed and offers a wider catching surface, which is often preferred by goalies who prioritize a more natural feel and want a larger pocket to catch the puck with greater ease.
Pocket Design
The THS Spec version of this catcher uses a double-T pocket design which provides a large and secure catching surface. The two-piece construction allows the goaltenders to trap the puck between the two sections of the pocket, creating a stable grip on the puck. The double-T pocket design allows for quick and easy release of the puck, and it has a more natural "funnel" shape that helps guide the puck towards the goalies hand for cleaner and quicker catches.
This catcher also features a skate lace pocket, which is designed to offer a deeper, softer, and more responsive pocket, reducing puck pop-outs and improving glove closure for better control.
Strapping
The strapping system on the Vapor series is made of adjustable straps and fasteners that can be configured to achieve the desired level of support, mobility, and comfort. The glove also includes an optimized wrist strap for a more comfortable and adjustable fit, as well as a fully adjustable backhand.
Cuff Design
The SV-90 catcher features a CURV sheet cuff that provides structural stability that can resist even the toughest of impacts. The cutting-edge design guarantees long-lasting performance on the ice, enabling goalies to elevate their game to the next level.
Palm Material
The palm is constructed and covered with a polycarbonate palm. This design is constructed to keep the hands secure and in place, while the added padding helps goalies stay protected from impacts that may hit them in an uncomfortable area. Bauer also integrated a Catchlite palm grip liner which helps goalies to be comfortable and protected when making saves.
