CCM Tacks XR Youth Hockey Skates
Intro & New Features
The CCM Tacks XR Youth Hockey Skates are the new top-of-the-line youth skates available from CCM in the 2026 season. With a reinforced synthetic composite construction and a faux carbon skin, it provides a pro design for elite beginners. Memory foam wraps around the ankles and features added comfort pad at the boot cut. Available in sizes 8-10 (full) and 11-13 (full & half), they also feature a regular skate width.
Skate Fit Profile
The Tacks XR skates come in a regular skate width. When deciding on a skate size, a good rule of thumb is to take the player’s shoe size and drop it by 1 or 1.5 sizes.
Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
The boot is constructed with a synthetic composite material. The durable boot with extra reinforcement is designed to provide the necessary support and flex for young hockey players. These skates are stiffer which may be tough to break in at first, but they are best for skating with big strides and won’t wear down as easily.
Liner & Internal Padding
The inside of the skate features a sublimated HD microfiber liner with comfortable ankle pads. The sublimated liner gives the skates a technical, welcoming interior while the ankle pads positioning provides a good balance between comfort and necessary support to learn how to skate.
Tongue
CCM continues to use the ADPT Comfort Tongue with 3D Mesh Lacebite. This tongue has a molded core with ADPT Memory Foam and 5mm felt to wrap around your foot for ultimate feel and comfort. FlexMotion has also been integrated into these skates, which minimize lace-bite while maximizing forward flexion.
Insoles
Constructed of molded CCM Ortholite, the molded insole keeps your foot in place for improved performance. With CCM kid sizing zones, it’s never been easier to fit tiny feet, providing young players with excellent support and comfort.
Holders & Steel
These skates have two different holders that vary depending on the sizing. Skate sizes 8-12.5 feature a sturdy holder with a black coated runner for maximum stability and awesome looks. Sizes 13-13.5 feature a quick release holder with XS1 Pro Black runners, black coating and 4mm taller height over standard runners.
