Along with the new Tacks line of protective gear in the 2026 season, CCM released the Tacks XR80 Elbow pads. These elbow pads are designed to be a competitive level option for hockey players, while offering high-end features that make it a reliable option for providing protection. Whether you're up and coming or playing for the first time, these elbow pads are a great opinion for all hockey players.

Construction

These elbow pads are constructed with a Max Coverage ASD (Anatomical Shield Design) paired with a single-piece floating bicep pad. This design is engineered to offer a great level of coverage that follows the body’s natural shape while allowing for maximum protection, without sacrificing mobility.

Forearm Protection

The forearm section on these elbow pads feature a slash shield with a sublimated liner. This design features a compress-molded foam forearm guard that offers great protection and a comfortable feel for players.

Elbow Cap

The elbows are protected with an anatomical JDP cap with a comfort donut. This competitive-level cap and comfort donut allow to better support the elbow and distribute impact energy away from the joints so that players are protected from impacts while on the ice.

Bicep Protection

To protect the biceps, CCM designed the XR80 elbow pads with a floating bicep pad that is reinforced with PE plastic. This construction provides players of all skill calibers with competitive-level protection and comfort that allows them to play through impacts.

Strapping System

The Tacks XR80 elbow pads are held in place with a length adjustable forearm strap. This provides the player with a comfortable and snug fit that wraps around their arm and keeps the padding in place, preventing unwanted movements. The length-adjustable straps also allow for a fully customizable fit that is tailored to the player's needs.

Sizing

The CCM Tacks XR80 Senior Hockey Elbow Pads come in sizes Small, Medium, Large, and Extra-Large.
